The food here is so much better than most of the k-bars in the area! We came here a couple weeks ago to celebrate my friend's graduation. There was a wait around 8pm but we got seated fairly quickly after about 15 minutes of waiting. I like the vibes in here maybe because of the interior haha. It was heated inside which was nice because the weather outside was cold and chilly. We ended up ordering one of the combos that came with fried chicken, fish cake soup and the option of soju or beer. On top of that, we ordered tteokbokki, bossam and corn cheese. Everything came out hot and was delicious. I enjoyed everything we ordered! My favorite was probably the tteokbokki because it came with like sweet potato with it. The bossam was actually pretty good for a Korean bar. My friends really liked the fried chicken! They said it was super flavorful. The fish cake soup that came with the combo was light and hearty. 10/10 would come here again for the food, drinks and vibes. Service here was good too.
Came here on a Saturday night and while it was bustling inside, we were able to get seated right away! The server was super friendly and attentive. The atmosphere inside was loud but fun. The raw marinated crab tasted fresh! Not too spicy for me but it was pretty spicy for my partner who doesn't handle spice well. The tteokbokki and kimchi stew were flavorful, but I wouldn't order the kimchi & spam fried rice again since it was too salty. The spicy chicken wings were more sweet than spicy, and were super crispy! My favorite was the melona cocktail - make sure to wait til the melona ice cream melts all the way before drinking though! I would come back again, but not if you can't handle some spice.
Came here on a Sunday at 5pm, right when they opened so we had no issues getting a seat for a party of four. The decor was nice and they had kpop video/music playing in the background. Service was great, no complaints. I couldn't get past the smell of beer from last nights shenanigans and the utensils could use a better clean so I would knock out a star for cleanliness. We ordered combo 2 which included Sweet spicy fried chicken - nice crunch and flavor but wasn't spicy at all Corn cheese - good flavor but cheese needs better melting Fish cake soup - can't complain, was delicious Soju - went with the yogurt flavor A+ Additionally we also ordered Steamed egg - lacking flavor unfortunately Gizzard (grilled) - not the best but also not the worst Pork belly - first thing we destroyed Overall I enjoyed the food and atmosphere, wouldn't mind coming back for a fun drunk late night
My party of 3 came right at opening time 5pm on a Friday for a quick dinner. Wasn't too crowded even when we left around 6pm. Ambiance is dimly lit with kpop music playing. Free popcorn appetizer. We shared the raw marinated crab, kimchi bossam, half fried and half sweet spicy fried chicken, and army stew. Raw marinated crab was pretty good. My first time trying. Cold slimy texture. Kimchi bossam was pretty good too. The pork belly wasn't overly fatty and it went well with the cabbage, garlic, and other sides. Unfortunately we couldn't mix and match the Korean fried chicken flavors and they weren't able to do half soy garlic and half sweet spicy. We ended up just doing the half fried and half sweet spicy fried chicken. I liked the half sweet spicy fried chicken a lot better than the regular fried. Army stew was pretty standard, I'm usually just not a fan of this dish personally. Prices are on the higher end but portions are pretty big. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Food came out quickly as well.
Solid pocha spot! I came here on a Sunday night and was immediately seated for a party of 2. The ambiance here was chill and our server was very attentive. I was craving raw crab so bad and this place really hit the spot! The marinade was the perfect level of spice with the right level of marinade over the crab. The garlic fries were okay, not as garlicky as I prefer but the crisp was good. And the bossam was super tender and fatty (in a good way), served with kimchi, napa cabbage, garlic, and dipping sauces. The price is on the higher side, but the servings are huge- we definitely had leftovers to bring home. Would definitely come back here.
My go-to pocha place in the bay! I've tried a couple other pocha spots and have been loyal to hongdae pocha since I found it! Their spicy rice cakes come in a good sized potion with a hard boiled egg and fish cakes included! I've noticed a couple other places charge those items as extra and I'm a firm believer they should be a standard inclusion with tteokbokkin! Hongdae pocha does it right! The staff is also super nice and attentive, there's lots of sitting spaces, easy to find parking as it's located in a nice sized lot. I've always gotten seated right away as the space is a bit bigger than other places inside! They have all the hit kpop mvs playing along with some card board cut outs of idols! All the food is amazing here but the kimchi pancake, kimchi stew, and corn cheese are honorable mentions! Definitely would recommend this place to anyone looking for a new pocha spot to try out in South Bay!
I've been here a few times now both with big and small groups and it never disappoints! The servers and staff are really attentive and accommodating. Compared to other pochas in the area I think it's the most spacious and has the best food! The food is always consistently good, and the vibe of the restaurant is really good for drinking with friends. They have really cute lights all around the interior and it's a little dark in there which also adds to the overall pocha vibe. If you have a larger group I definitely recommend this place! Will def be coming back!
love the vibe @ this place, not sure how if it matters what day you go, but their service is fast & friendly, there's plenty of options to choose from on the menu & no matter what you decide to get, I'm pretty sure you will not be disappointed & your taste buds will be satisfied. It seems like a small restaurant but, it goes towards the back, I'm pretty sure it's very roomy, because as we were seated, near the entrance, people were coming in, some were seated right away, depending on party size & didn't seem like people were waiting long, because you don't see anyone standing around, waiting to be seated. Parking is kind of No Bueno, because it's located in a plaza & it does get pretty busy. I will definitely be visiting this place more, to check out the other items on the menu.
Not my favorite pocha place but food was decent and the toppokki with ramen came in a great portion size! Enough for 2 people as an entree. The interior is also clean and provides a nice ambiance to hang out with friends. Parking was abundant as well. The tap water did taste a little soapy so you're better off ordering your own drink
